This was my final project for the illustration class that I took while at UF (taught by comic artist Leela Corman http://www.leelacorman.com/). I remember being super stressed out over the project because the entire semester I felt creatively blocked (FEEEEL MY ANGST) and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do something up to my vague but punishing standards. I worked for hours, stressing, and chipping away, finally to say "fuck it" toss all my other ideas aside and paint these. It was strange because these came very quickly, and I personally think they look okay. I guess like there is some moral about just letting it all go and just working, but I prefer to interpret it as an example of Toho's experiments with psychic children that will one day lead to free advertising!

| Mothra is a giant moth summoned by two miniature twin Japanese women, which might be the most consistent backstory for any of the Kaiju in these films. |

I used to rent these movies pretty much weekly when I was in elementary school, but Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II was the only one I owned on VHS. It also has my favorite line of dialogue from any of the movies.
(Officer: It says your hobbies include...Pteranodons?!?
Main Character/Doofus: Yeah! You know, flying dinosaurs! *makes flapping motion with arms) |

| Rodan (along with Mothra and potentially Anguirus) was sort of friendly with Godzilla and would occasionally help him fight more nefarious Kaiju, though I shall not here seek to postulate on the nature monster politics. |

| Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla is the least memorable of the 90s series, to me, though I love his design with all of my cold wretched heart. Also: He wasn't a playable character in Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee, so fuck you Atari circa 2004). |

| Godzilla vs King Ghodorah is the pinnacle of cinematic achievement. Movies should have stopped trying after it was released, but such is the hubris of man. Now there are four Alvin and the Chipmunk movies. |
